Dallas Zoo

Thursday Alyson and I went to the Dallas Zoo with Justin's cousins, Emma and Shelby. It was Dollar Day at the Zoo so as you can imagine, it got pretty crowded. The morning started off nice, but after a couple hours it got busy and unbearably humid. We saw just about everything...might have missed the Zebras, Hippos, Rhinos though. Alyson had a fun time even though she got hot. She was afraid of the horse, but other than that she liked seeing all the animals. We lost her cup somewhere along the way. I went back looking for it when I realized she had lost it, but it was no where to be found. Overall, we had a great day and I'm looking forward to taking her back with Justin when it gets cooler (and hopefully less crowded!). Here are the photos Shelby took with my camera:

Looking at the horse Alyson was afraid of.
 Touching the pig snout.

 Touching the horse hoof.
I thought it was funny that there was a human finger on the sign with the horse hooves. I understand why it was there...it just caught me off guard. :)

 Looking at the ducks.

Alyson got to pet the goats.

 Watching the goats eat hay.
Alyson also got to pet a chicken.

 Looking at the donkeys.
Sitting in the turtle shell on the children's playground.

We sat in the nest (in the shade of the big flower) because the eggs were full of water.
 Hammerhead shark skull.
 Touching a turtle shell.

Oooooo, pretty sparkles. (She definitely takes after her Momma!!)

Staying hydrated on a hot day!

 Watching the monkeys!
 She liked the emu!
Kookaburra (For those of you that know the joke with this....Immagirl!! Hahaha!!)

 Looking at the Koala's sleeping.

Just being my normal self. :)
Watching the turtles walk around and eat.

Shelby really liked the turtles...can you tell from all the photos? :)

Somewhere after this is where we lost her cup. She looks scared, but she wasn't.
 Trying on the giraffe mask.

She fell asleep as we were getting to the gorillas. Eventually she had both arms behind her head and people passing kept commenting on her arms being behind her head. Haha!

After we stopped for lunch, we were starting to get miserably hot and it was beginning to get so crowded you could barely move around. So we decided to call it a day. For the most part we had seen everything anyway. On the way back to the car, we passed a stand selling monkeys. Alyson liked them so I bought her one. She picked the pink one and has loved on it since we got it.
When we left the zoo, we went to meet my Dad at his house. We relaxed for a little bit, then loaded up to go to the airport to pick up my sister and Sau. They have been gone for the past month to visit his family in American Samoa. They didn't know we were going with my Dad to pick them up, so that was a fun surprise! It was really good to see them after so long. We've all been missing them. When we left the airport, we all met my Mom and Justin at Babe's for dinner. I should have taken photos of all of us, but I was enjoying the moment of them returning and I forgot. We did get some of Alyson outside sitting in the chairs as we were leaving though.

Thursday was a fun, but exhausting day. I actually fell asleep while standing up rocking Alyson at bedtime. Haha!!
