Friday was my last day at work. We worked until noon, then my summer began!! Alyson went to work with me that day and we played in the clinic together all morning.

Friday night we had dinner with my family and taught them the card game Hand and Foot.
Saturday morning we woke up early to drive to Corsicana to meet Justin's family for a weekend away. Here is Alyson and Daddy as we were leaving the house:
We got there early so we met my in-laws at Big Lots. Here is Alyson in the shopping cart:
The families from Austin met those of us from Dallas at Cotton Patch Cafe for lunch. You guessed it...Alyson eating lunch:
Next we drove a short distance to downtown Corsicana to look around. Alyson had her shades on since it was a nice sunny day:
We went to some antique shops in the downtown area. My father in law bought me an old stethoscope for my medicine cabinet that is really cool. I haven't taken a photo of it yet though. I found a metal bedpan. I was soooo excited!! Everyone laughed at me and some were grossed out that I bought it. It's a great addition for my old medicine collection!
Next we went into a cute little coffee shop called Bittersweet. Everyone got a drink and we took a break from all the walking we had been doing before getting in the cars and heading to Ennis to check into our hotel.
When we got to the hotel we had reservations at, there were some big problems that were hard to overlook. We decided to go next door to the Holiday Inn Express and group up families to share suites. It ended up being a really fun family slumber party!! Alyson slept well and didn't cry keeping everyone in our room up. We wanted to go to the indoor pool with her so she could swim for the first time, but by the time we figured out the hotel situation and went to have dinner, the pool was closed. The people rooming with us went back to our room and played the game Ellen advertises called Heads Up on the iPad. I'll have to share a couple videos of that once Justin posts them to YouTube. Alyson even got involved!

Sunday morning we got up to have breakfast at the hotel before we all headed our separate ways home. When we left Ennis, we made a couple stops along the way in the country for Justin to take some scenery photos. Alyson was asleep in the car so it worked well. And he got some great shots!! I'll share some of those when he gets them on his computer. We made our way to Whitewright, TX as we stopped for photos. We went out to Skydive Dallas to see my Dad skydive!! He has been saying he wanted to skydive for a while now, so for his birthday in February we all pitched in and gave him that as a gift! It was a great day for him to do it too. Not too many clouds in the sky, nice warm day, and a steady breeze kept us cool while we watched. Alyson loved seeing the parachutes and people as they got closer to the ground and landed in front of us. She would kick, laugh, scream, and wave. It was so cute!! Here are a couple photos from my phone (while holding Alyson), but there are much better ones from everyone else I can share later. My Dad has the purple parachute.

So as you can see, we had a busy fun filled weekend and a great start to my summer home with Alyson!!
