2 month doctor visit

Today's visit went well. The doctor says Alyson is doing great, growing, and right on track!!

She is 24 3/4 inches long. She's actually off the chart for her age. He said she is the length of an average 5 month old!!! Haha!! We knew she seemed to be growing long!!

She weighs 11 pounds 14.5 ounces. He said her weight is great. I think she is in the 75th percentile for her age with weight.

He's happy with her development. She smiles on her own, smiles when she's smiled at occasionally, is starting to coo, and beginning to follow things with her eyes. He was very impressed at her skills in being able to hold her head up and starting to push up with her legs when you make them touch the table. He said she's a strong baby!!

Alyson got her 2 month shots at this visit as well. She did really good with them!! She was vaccinated against Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Pertussis, HIB, Pneumonia, Polio, and Rotovirus. The Rotovirus was a liquid she drank and she actually did it without fussing...unlike her reflux medicine!! Some of the other shots were combined so she only had a total of 3. 2 in the left and 1 in the right. She didn't even know the nurse gave her the first one. She cried for the other 2 and I've never seen her face turn so red!! The nurse was GREAT and gave them all really fast so it was over before she knew it!! I took a bottle with us and fed her as soon as her shots were done and that made her happy. She didn't cry very long once she started eating. Check out the picture of her pink Snoopy bandaids below!!

Her doctor said we can let her go as long as she sleeps at night without eating now. If its up to 10-12 hours that's ok!! Now if only she would start sleeping for longer stretches!! He did tell me we should move her to her crib and out of our room. He said that will help her to start sleeping longer not having us right there next to her. So now I have to decide between sleep or just being able to look over and see her sweet face any time during the night. This parenting thing is HARD!!! Way harder on me than it is on her!!!

As for her reflux medicine, we still keep giving her that. If we notice she needs an increase in the dosage before we go back I just have to give him a call. If when we go back at 4 months she is still on the same dose he will take her off of it. He said most babies out grow it as their muscles mature. So prayers she'll be done with that by next time!!

Also at the 4 month visit we will discuss introducing solid foods and when that will happen.

Today's visit went great and we have a healthy growing baby!!!
